Halloween

Ahh Halloween. I know I'm not suppose to like this secular holiday, but I have to admit, I just love a kid in a costume. And how could you not smile at our sweet little flower? This week has been packed with fall and Halloween activities...from parties, to petting zoos, to hay mazes. I didn't get pictures of everything, but I do have a few of the highlights.

Earlier in the week, one of my neighbor friends threw a party for all of our little ones. This was our best attempt at a group photo.

Even at Kindermusik, there was a party. My favorite was our little friend Ava who was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, complete with Toto in a basket.

By this evening, I think Emma was pretty costumed out, but we forged ahead. Our church threw a fall festival, complete with hay rides and...

...pony rides! Emma does love her ponies and horses.

But, even the pony ride couldn't keep the inevitable melt down from occurring (actually it occurred after she had to get off the pony). Happy Halloween everyone!!

Another food post

I don't know what it is about messy eating pictures, but I love them. So here's another one...

Taking the dog for a walk

Tonight Emma wanted to walk the dog. So we let her. It was a great idea until she got bored and let go of the leash allowing Annie to run off and roll in wild animal feces. Guess who's getting a bath later...

Emma's first bike ride

We took Emma for her first bike ride over the weekend. Here she is trying out her new helmet.

As you can tell from her expression, she wasn't quite as into it as we had hoped.

On a different note, this is where I found Elmo today.

Yea! Tarheels beat the Lucky Irish... or should I say "Unlucky!"

Tim and Emma went to part of the UNC/Notre Dame football game today. Yes, I know, Tim is very brave bringing a 1 1/2 year old to a football game. I tried to get a picture of them together, showing off Emma's cute pink UNC T-shirt but dang ol' Elmo kept getting in the way.

You can kind of see the T-shirt here. Emma has been a bit fasinated with my camera, particularily the red eye reduction light, and that's why she's so close.

Tim wanted me to include this picture in the post. He told me that I don't have enough "action" shots of Emma. But really, does this constitute an action shot? She's grabbing her mouth in the most unattractive way... ;)

Elmo

Move over Garth Brooks. Emma has a new love...Elmo. Even though she has only seen Elmo on TV maybe four times, she has still managed to fall in love. Tim took pity on her poor love struck heart and bought her this Elmo doll. Before, she would just wander around saying "Elmo," I guess hoping that he would magically appear. Funny story about Emma and Elmo, we've been teaching Emma her body parts and have moved on to the more complicated ones like chin, knee, and cheeks. Problem is, whenever we ask her where her elbow is, she points to Elmo. Elbow, Elmo. It's pretty easy to get them mixed up especially when you're in love.
