I'm a bad blogger

So I know...It's been forever since I've posted pictures. Hopefully these will help ease the pain. The gold light in this picture is from the sun coming in the window. Isn't she a cutie?

Not quite ready for the picture.

Another cute close up.

Posin' in front of our tree...

Christmas coming early

Aunt Peggy gave Emma this piano for Christmas. She loves it. I now have a permanent headache. :) Below, I interrupted the concert that Emma was giving her baby. She was not happy with me.

Baking Cookies

Papa and Noni sent us a cookie mix in the mail. Here we are getting ready.

Emma loved shaping the cookies into "pancakes."

Thanks guys!

Halloween

Halloween! Here's our little butterfly.

We went trick-or-treating with Emma's friend Carter who was spiderman!

Random Emma quote for the day:

"In Africa they have blue balloons."

Hmmm...okay.

Emma playing with her baby doll, Yaya.

I thought this was a cute picture. Emma, Noah, and William are all greeting Tim home from work.

Emma's hair is long enough for pigtails (which she loves), but the curls make them look like Princess Leah buns.

Having fun painting.

This was the face Emma gave me when I asked her to smile.

I'll get some pictures posted in a bit, but I thought I'd share this conversation until then.

Emma: My smelling you Mommy (as she's sniffing me).
Me: What do I smell like?
Emma: Goose poop.

Nice.

Another so endearing Emma story... A couple of evenings ago Emma was "reading" out loud a card I got in the mail. She said, "Dear God. In my heart and in my soul." I, being quite dumbfounded and moved that something like that could come out of her mouth, teared up and said, "Emma! Where did you learn that?" She responded, "Hmmm...Bethlehem." No truer words were ever spoken. And then, yesterday during church I was holding her during the one of the worship songs when Em raised one of her little hands to the ceiling, spreading her fingers. She looked at me and smiled, then looked at a woman in the row in front of us. This woman was singing her heart out, raising her hand to Jesus. Monkey see, monkey do. Or should I say worshiper see, worshiper do. :)

Halloween Already

We got our Halloween costume a little early and of course Emma had to wear around the neighborhood. It didn't matter that it was 80 degrees out and the outfit is all fleece...

I'll post some pictures later, but I thought I would share some more "Emmaisms" for you until then...

Emma has really gotten into praying lately and asking for us to pray for different things. Today after letting go of a balloon and losing it to the grocery store rafters, she told Tim, "Pray I go up high to get balloon." But then she thought about it more and said, "Balloon up high. Annie can't pop." Annie has popped several balloons. Hmmm... Tough decision to pray to go up high and get the balloon or keep it safe away from the terrier...

Emma has also started using many of our phrases, sometimes correctly and sometimes not. She now says "Mercy" quite frequently because of Grandma Hopie. And then yesterday she looked at Annie and said, "Gracious Annie!" She's also started saying "Oh my gosh" (not really my favorite, but I think she learned it from me) but doesn't quite have the use down pat. Today she randomly said "Oh my gosh" after zipping her backpack. And then later she said, "More cereal. Oh my gosh."

I also get a kick out of the little mixups Emma has with her words. It's really cute. Picnic is "picpic," band-aid is "bandant," and Bob the Builder is "Bob the Boulder." Too fun.

"Braving"

Another fun little conversation... Yesterday, Emma was playing in the sprinkler and was a little unsure if she wanted to actually run over the top of it. Our fearless Annie had no problem running over it though. And after watching her for a little while, Emma looked at me and said, "Annie braving." Yes, Annie was braving and going through the sprinkler. Eventually Annie got tired and laid down in the sun to dry. Emma continued to watch her, then turned to me and said, "Annie, she braved." :)

From the mouths of babes

I have to say, even though I'm her Mommy, Emma is just too cute. Watching her play is so entertaining. Yesterday, she put her "kids" (some of her Little People figures) on her toy plane and flew them to Bethlehem. The kids then taught her nativity scene animals how to go potty using our actual toilet. The sheep figurine didn't quite stay on the toilet seat and caused a near melt down when he fell in. But don't worry; he was fished out and given a "bath."

Another cute little story... The other day Emma came in from outside with a flier from a house that's for sale in our neighborhood. She handed me the flier and then pronounced, "From God." Guess God wants us to move.

Talkin' Away

The phrases that come out of Emma's mouth these days have been so entertaining. One of my favorite things she says is "Mommy's so great" or "Daddy's so great." She has also gotten into emailing, which consists of her banging on the keyboard in front of our computer. And lately she has actually started telling us what she is emailing while she is typing. Yesterday morning she emailed "Dear God. Wait a sec." :)

Yes, it has been a whole month...

Sorry that it has been so long since we've updated the blog. Hopefully these pictures will help soothe the pain. Here's our little Naked Cowboy.

New glasses.

Here's a few pictures of Emma having way too much fun during her Occupational Therapy session.

Facebook pics

I was trying to update my Facebook profile picture and here's the result. As you can tell from this picture, Emma wasn't too in to the idea.

Need I say more?

Two heads on one toddler body...

I think I could post this one... She still looks annoyed though. Can you blame her?

Last day of preschool

I have several new posts. Be sure to scroll down! :)

Emma had her last day of preschool a week ago. Here are some pictures from it. This is her main teacher, Miss Jenny.

Here is her other teacher, Miss Maggie.

More cooking...

I think Emma loves cookie dough almost as much as me.

Turns out Anya (that's what Emma calls Annie) likes cookie dough also.

I'm trying to teach Emma moderation, but it's hard when she seems me doing this. Yum.

Here's the outfit she was wearing this afternoon.
